Biohazard and Crime Scene Cleanup in Millersville, TN

Millersville is a small city about 15 miles north of Nashville, just above Goodlettsville, on the line between Sumner and Robertson counties. We clean up blood, bodily fluids and other biological contamination here after deaths, injuries and crimes, once the property has been released.

It's one of the closer towns to our Nashville base, but we still schedule every visit by phone. This page covers the city's older residents, its rental homes and businesses on the highway, and the questions Millersville callers bring us.

Who lives in Millersville

Millersville's population is relatively stable at about 6,400, and it's older than most nearby towns: about 18.7 percent of residents are 65 or older, and the average household is about 2.5 people. Roughly a third of occupied homes are rented (Census QuickFacts, ACS 2020–2024).

An older population means a higher share of calls tied to falls, medical emergencies and deaths at home. Those are some of the hardest calls for families, and some of the most common for us. Our injury blood cleanup and residential death scene cleanup pages describe what's involved.

When the call is about an aging parent

A lot of the people who call us about Millersville are adult children. A parent fell and was taken to the hospital, or a parent died at home, and now someone has to deal with the house. Often that person lives in another part of the Nashville area and is juggling work, hospital visits and family. We try to take one thing off that list. We can meet a relative or neighbor at the home, send you the written scope by email, and keep you updated by phone. If your parent is coming home, we'll make sure the affected area is cleaned and disinfected before they return, and we'll tell you if anything like flooring will need a contractor afterward.

Rental houses and manufactured homes

With about a third of homes rented, landlords are often the ones who call. In manufactured or mobile homes, floors are commonly built of particleboard or similar decking, which absorbs liquid readily. When fluids reach those floors, a section often has to be cut out rather than cleaned. We'll explain that before any work starts and include it in the written scope.

Landlords should look at our landlord biohazard cleanup page and a landlord's guide.

Businesses along Louisville Highway

Much of Millersville's commercial activity sits along Louisville Highway, where City Hall is also located: convenience stores, auto businesses, small offices and lodging. An incident in a store restroom, a parking lot or a motel room needs quick containment so customers and staff aren't exposed. See blood cleanup in commercial buildings and hotel cleanup for how we handle public-facing spaces.

What shapes the price

FactorWhy it matters
How far contamination spreadMore surface area means more time, materials and disinfection.
Types of materialsCarpet, pad, upholstered furniture and particleboard often have to be removed rather than cleaned.
Number of roomsEach room may need its own containment and cleaning.
AccessStairs, tight hallways or distance from parking affect labor.
Waste volumeEverything removed has to be packaged and disposed of properly.

We don't publish set prices because no two jobs are alike. How pricing works explains the written-scope approach.

Odor in a closed-up house

When a house has been shut for a while after a death or illness, odor can linger. Air fresheners and open windows don't fix the cause, which is usually material that still holds contamination. We find and remove the source first, then deodorize. The odor guide explains why that order matters.

Scope first, then work

  1. Phone conversation

We ask about the property, what happened in general terms and whether it has been released.

  2. Assessment

We inspect every affected surface and write up what will be cleaned, removed and disinfected.

  3. Your approval

Nothing starts until the owner or authorized person approves the written scope.

  4. Cleanup and disposal

Contaminated materials are removed and disposed of in line with applicable Tennessee and federal requirements; surfaces are treated with EPA-registered disinfectants.

Before our crew gets there

A few safe steps

If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911 first. Once the authorities have released the property, keep people and pets out of the area, close the door, and if it's easy, avoid running fans toward it. Don't throw out damaged items until you've talked to your insurer.

Please don't try to scrub carpet or upholstery yourself. Household cleaning can spread contamination deeper into materials and make the job larger. What not to do before an assessment explains why.

When the house is part of an estate

If the owner has died, an executor or family member usually needs to approve the work. We'll keep our documentation simple enough to hand to an attorney or the estate's insurer, and we can work around showings or appraisals if the house is going on the market. See estate property cleanup.

Two counties, one schedule

Millersville appears on both our Sumner County and Robertson County pages. Nearby we serve Goodlettsville, Greenbrier and Hendersonville. Being close to Nashville can simplify scheduling, but we confirm every visit by phone and don't promise an arrival time.

Questions people ask

Our tenant lived in a manufactured home. Will the floor have to come out?

Not always, but often if fluids reached the decking, since those materials absorb liquid. We'll inspect and show you before deciding.

My father fell at home and there's blood on the carpet. Is that something you do?

Yes. Blood that has soaked into carpet usually reaches the pad, so we check both. For a tiny spot on a hard surface, household cleaning following public-health guidance may be enough.

Can you work in a store while it's open?

We'll need the affected area closed off. Depending on the layout, the rest of the business may be able to stay open; we'll talk it through with you.

Do you need both a landlord and tenant to sign off?

The owner or manager authorizes work on the structure. If a tenant's belongings are involved, we'll coordinate with the tenant or their family too.

Is there a minimum job size?

We price from a written scope after an assessment rather than by a set minimum. Call and describe the situation and we'll explain the next step.

How close are you to Millersville?

We're based in Nashville, so Millersville is one of the shorter drives in our area. We still confirm every visit by phone and don't promise an arrival time.
