Maury County, TN Biohazard Cleanup Coverage
We travel south from Nashville to every part of Maury County, whether the job is in a Spring Hill subdivision, an older house near the Columbia square, or a farm outside Mount Pleasant. One team handles every call, and scheduling is set by phone.
Maury County has three incorporated cities and a great deal of open land along the Duck River. This page explains how that mix affects cleanup, which agencies are usually involved first, and the questions people here tend to ask before booking.

Columbia, Spring Hill and Mount Pleasant
Columbia is the county seat, home to the James K. Polk Home and a downtown built around the courthouse square. Its neighborhoods range from early twentieth-century houses to newer developments on the edges of town. Spring Hill straddles the Williamson County line and is mostly newer subdivisions built around the GM manufacturing plant and Saturn Parkway. Mount Pleasant, in the southwest, is a small town with older homes and a lot of surrounding farmland.
For city-specific detail, see our Columbia page and our Spring Hill page. Communities like Culleoka, Santa Fe and Hampshire are unincorporated and covered as well.
Older houses and new builds need different approaches
Maury County has both ends of the housing spectrum. That matters because building materials decide what can be cleaned and what has to come out.
Older homes in Columbia and Mount Pleasant
- Plank subfloors with gaps where fluid can travel
- Layers of flooring added over decades
- Plaster walls that may be cleaned rather than cut
- Crawl spaces that may need inspection below an affected room
Newer homes in Spring Hill
- Carpet and pad over OSB subfloor
- Floating vinyl plank with underlayment beneath
- Drywall and baseboard close to the floor line
- Open layouts where odor travels between rooms
In either case, we check below the surface before recommending removal. Our page on carpet and subfloor cleanup explains how that decision is made.
Farms and river property
The Duck River winds across the county, and the land along it is a mix of farms, wooded tracts and homes on large lots. On these properties we plan for gravel drives, gates, outbuildings and septic systems. An incident in a barn, shop or detached garage is handled differently from one in a finished room, because bare wood and concrete absorb more. Animals on the property should be kept away from the affected area. Tell us about any of these details when you call.
Before cleanup: police, sheriff and medical examiner
City police usually handle incidents inside Columbia, Spring Hill and Mount Pleasant. Outside those limits, the Maury County Sheriff's Office is generally the responding agency. When a death is sudden, unexplained or the result of an overdose, the county medical examiner investigates. Under Tennessee's system, forensic autopsies happen at regional forensic centers and are not billed to the family. Once the property has been released, we can schedule an assessment.
When the person who died lived alone
Many calls from rural parts of the county come from adult children or other relatives after an older family member died at home. Sometimes several days passed before anyone knew. Families in that position often face a long list of decisions at once: the funeral, the estate, the house, and what to do with a lifetime of belongings.
We handle only the affected area and anything that can't safely be kept. We don't clear out the rest of the house unless you ask, and we tell you before removing any item you might want to keep. Our guide for families walks through the order in which most people tackle these decisions.
Workplaces and rentals
Not every call is residential. Manufacturing and distribution sites around Spring Hill and Columbia, small businesses on the courthouse square, and motels along the highways all have incidents from time to time. For a business, the priorities are usually closing off the area, keeping employees and customers away, and getting a written record for the file. Our workplace cleanup page covers that work.
About 29 percent of homes in the county are rented, according to Census figures. If you own or manage one, our rental property blood cleanup page explains how we work with owners and managers.
Getting a Maury County job on the calendar
Spring Hill is about 30 miles south of downtown Nashville on I-65, and Columbia and Mount Pleasant are farther. Interstate traffic and rural roads both affect timing, so we agree on a time with you rather than quoting one in advance. Call (615) 513-5112, or start through Order Online, which takes a $2,000 initial deposit. The deposit isn't the final price and doesn't set a start time.
Questions people ask
We live in Spring Hill. Are we in Maury or Williamson County?
It depends on your street, since Spring Hill crosses the county line. We cover both sides. The Williamson County page covers the northern side.
Do you go out to farms past Mount Pleasant?
Yes. Rural Maury County is within our area. We may ask about the driveway, gates and where we can park so the trip goes smoothly.
The incident was in a detached shop building, not the house. Is that different?
The process is the same, but the materials usually differ. Unsealed wood, bare concrete and stored items absorb more than finished surfaces, so the scope may include more removal. We'll explain what we find before any work begins.
The house had been closed up for days. Will the odor come back after cleanup?
Lasting odor control depends on removing the source, not covering it. Once the affected materials are out, we disinfect and deodorize the area. Our page on odor-related remediation explains the approach.
Can I get the cleanup paperwork for my insurance company?
Yes. We provide photos, a written scope and an itemized invoice. Whether your policy covers any of the work depends on your insurer and your policy terms, so call your agent early.
Do you rebuild after removing flooring?
No. Rebuilding is a contractor's job. We'll tell you whether your project will need one and give you documentation the contractor and your insurer can use.
