Biohazard and Crime Scene Cleanup in Smyrna, TN
Smyrna is a manufacturing town as much as a suburb, and our work here reflects both. We clean up after deaths, assaults, suicides and injuries in houses and apartments, and we also handle workplace incidents at plants, suppliers and warehouses. Our team travels from Nashville; there is no Smyrna office.

Plants, suppliers and shift work
Nissan's Smyrna vehicle assembly plant was the first auto assembly plant in Tennessee, and Nissan describes it as its largest U.S. manufacturing site, with more than 5,700 employees. Around a plant that size you'll find suppliers, logistics yards and service businesses, many running around the clock.
An industrial incident is different from a household one in a few ways:
| Question | What it usually means for the job |
|---|---|
| Can the line keep running? | We isolate the affected area so work can continue elsewhere when that's safe. |
| Which surfaces are involved? | Sealed concrete and steel can often be disinfected; absorbent mats, cardboard and soft goods usually come out. |
| Who signs off? | Usually a safety manager or facilities lead; we work to their access and PPE rules on site. |
| What records are needed? | Photos, a written scope and an itemized invoice for the employer's own files. |
Employers whose staff could be exposed to blood have duties under OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, including an exposure control plan and protective equipment. Hiring us for the cleanup doesn't replace those duties, but it means your employees aren't the ones handling the contaminated area. See workplace biohazard cleanup and commercial cleanup planning.
Houses, townhomes and apartments
Census data puts the renter-occupied share of Smyrna's housing at about 42.6 percent, so a large minority of our residential calls involve a landlord or management company. The rest are owner-occupied houses, many of them in subdivisions built over the last few decades.
In rentals, the owner usually arranges and pays for cleanup, and the tenant's family is responsible for belongings. That split can cause friction. We try to make it easier by keeping personal items separate, listing what we remove and sending documentation to whoever is authorized. Our pages on blood cleanup in rentals and a landlord's guide explain the process from the owner's side.
In owner-occupied homes, many calls follow an assault or a domestic incident. If that's what happened in your home, we work calmly and on your terms. If you are not safe, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available at 1-800-799-7233.
Vehicles and commuters
A lot of people in Smyrna drive long distances to work, and some incidents happen in a car or truck. Vehicle interiors are small, enclosed and full of porous materials such as seat foam, headliners and carpet, so even a limited incident can mean removing seats or panels. We'll tell you after the assessment what can be cleaned and what has to come out. Our vehicle cleanup page has more. If the vehicle has been towed, tell us where it is and who has authority to release it to us.
The lake side of town
Part of Percy Priest Lake lies within the town limits. Homes and recreation areas near the water sometimes have longer driveways or limited parking for our vehicle. Let us know when you call so we can plan how to bring equipment in and carry waste out.
Before we get there
- Make sure police and, if a death occurred, the medical examiner have released the scene.
- Keep people and pets out of the affected area and close the door.
- Don't scrub, bleach or throw anything out yet; your insurer may want to see it.
- For a workplace, have the safety contact's name and site rules ready.
Why the last two matter is explained in what not to do before an assessment.
What you get when we finish
At the end of a Smyrna job, home or business, you'll have a short walkthrough by phone or in person, the photos we took, and an itemized invoice that matches the written scope. If something turned out larger than the assessment showed, for example fluid that had reached a subfloor, we'll have called you before going further. If repairs are needed, we'll say so plainly so you can line up a contractor.
Travel and timing
Smyrna sits southeast of Nashville, just past La Vergne, in Rutherford County. We drive down from our Nashville base and set times by phone. Interstate traffic and our other jobs affect timing, so we won't quote an arrival time until we've spoken. The phone line is answered day and night.
For businesses that prefer to start online, the Order Online page involves a $2,000 initial deposit. It's not the final price, and it doesn't mean work begins within a fixed number of hours.
Rutherford County and nearby cities
For areas outside town limits, see our Rutherford County page. We also have pages for neighboring La Vergne and Murfreesboro, as well as Nolensville to the west.
Questions people ask
Can you clean an area of our plant without shutting down production?
Often yes, if the affected area can be isolated and we have a safe route in and out. Your safety team makes the call about operations; we plan around their decision.
Do you follow our site's safety rules and PPE requirements?
Yes. Send us your contractor rules, sign-in steps and any training you require before we arrive.
A tenant was hurt in our Smyrna rental. Who should call you?
Either the owner or the property manager can call. We'll need authorization from someone with control of the property before we start.
Can you clean a car that's at a tow yard?
Sometimes. It depends on the yard's rules and whether there's room to work. Otherwise the vehicle can be moved to a location you choose.
Is there help paying for cleanup after an assault at home?
Tennessee Criminal Injuries Compensation may cover up to $3,000 for cleaning and removal of materials when the crime happened in the victim's or an eligible relative's home. The crime generally has to be reported within 15 days, and claims must be filed within two years.
Do you handle the disposal, or does the business?
We package contaminated material and dispose of it in line with applicable Tennessee and federal requirements. You don't need to arrange it.
