Biohazard and Crime Scene Cleanup in Brentwood, TN

Brentwood is a close-in suburb just south of Nashville, so it's one of the shorter trips we make. It's also a city of large, owner-occupied homes and a big office district. Cleanup requests here often center on privacy, protecting high-value finishes, or getting an office back in use. We clean up after deaths, suicides, injuries and crimes, and we handle each job quietly.

Below: what's distinctive about Brentwood homes and offices, and how we arrange a visit.

If you or a family member is struggling, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by call or text.

Nine in ten homes are owner-occupied

The Census puts Brentwood's owner-occupied rate at about 90.4 percent, and the median owner-occupied home value at more than $1 million. Renters are a small minority, so landlords and leasing offices come up far less here than in most of our service area. The person who calls us is usually a spouse, an adult child, an estate executor or a household manager.

That changes what matters most:

  • Privacy. Unmarked vehicles, gear put on indoors, and no discussion with anyone you haven't authorized.
  • Preserving what can be saved. Custom cabinetry, stone, hardwood and fine furniture are assessed one piece at a time, not removed by default.
  • Clear records. High-value homes often involve detailed insurance claims, so photos and itemized scopes matter.

Furniture, art and heirlooms

In larger homes, the affected room may hold antiques, rugs, art or family heirlooms. We sort items into three groups. First, things that weren't affected; we leave those alone or move them out of the way. Second, things that were affected but can be cleaned and disinfected, which are usually hard, sealed surfaces. Third, things that absorbed biological material and can't be safely saved. For anything in the third group that has significant value, we photograph it and talk with you before it leaves the house. Some families choose to consult a conservator or their insurer's specialist first, and we'll set those items aside sealed while you decide.

Our pages on contaminated furniture assessment and what happens to porous materials cover this in more depth.

Maryland Farms and the office district

Brentwood's business center is built around the Maryland Farms office complex, and the city's largest employers include UnitedHealth Group, Tractor Supply Company and Brookdale Senior Living. Offices and corporate campuses have their own needs after an incident: building security procedures, after-hours access, employees who need to be kept away from one area, and a facilities team that wants documentation.

We can typically work evenings or weekends to keep disruption low, follow the building's contractor rules, and give the facility manager a written record. Employers whose staff could be exposed to blood also have duties under OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. See commercial crime scene cleanup and workplace cleanup.

Senior living and aging in place

With a large senior-living employer based here and many longtime homeowners aging in place, some of our Brentwood calls involve older adults. Senior-living communities usually have their own procedures, and we coordinate with their staff. In private homes, it's often a fall or a medical event that leaves blood on carpet or upholstery. See blood cleanup after an injury.

When the house is part of an estate

A good share of Brentwood homes pass through probate after a death, and an executor may be handling the house from another city. Executors usually need three things from us: authorization that's clear about who approved the work, documentation solid enough for the estate's records and any insurance claim, and a home that's ready for the next step, whether that's an appraisal, an estate sale or a listing.

Families also ask about disclosure when they sell. Under T.C.A. § 66-5-207, a seller or real estate licensee can't be sued just for not mentioning that a homicide, felony or suicide took place on the property. Treat that as background only; your probate attorney or listing agent should advise on your sale. Our estate property cleanup page has more on working with executors.

Close to Nashville, but still confirmed by phone

Brentwood is a short drive south of Nashville, which makes it one of the nearer cities we serve. We don't keep an office here, and being close doesn't mean we can promise an arrival time. Traffic heading south out of Nashville is often heavy, and we may already be on another job. We'll tell you honestly when we can come for the assessment and confirm it by phone. The line is answered day and night.

Gated neighborhoods and long drives

Some Brentwood neighborhoods have gates, HOA rules on contractor hours, or long private drives. When you call, please mention:

  1. Any gate code or guard contact.
  2. HOA restrictions on work hours or vehicle parking.
  3. Where we can park closest to the entrance we'll use.
  4. Whether household staff or a property manager will let us in.

We also ask whether there's a security system or cameras we should know about, and whether anyone else, such as a housekeeper, landscaper or pool service, is due at the house. Telling them to hold off for a day or two keeps people away from the work area and protects your privacy.

Questions people ask

Can you avoid damaging our custom finishes?

We clean in place wherever it's safe and remove only material that has absorbed biological contamination. Before anything of high value is removed, we photograph it and talk with you.

Will our HOA or neighbors be told anything?

Not by us. If your HOA needs to approve contractor access, we'll give them only what's required, such as a company name and vehicle details.

Can you clean a Maryland Farms office after hours?

Usually yes. Send us the building's contractor requirements and the security desk contact ahead of time.

Our homeowner's policy is extensive. Will it cover this?

That depends on your policy and your insurer's decision. We provide photos, a written scope and an itemized invoice to support your claim. Our insurance questions guide lists what to ask.

Do you handle the repair work afterward?

No. If flooring, drywall or millwork needs replacing, we'll tell you so your contractor can scope it. We don't do reconstruction.

How do I start?

Call us, or begin on the Order Online page, which involves a $2,000 initial deposit. That isn't the final price; the final price comes from a written scope after the assessment.
